Transfer questions
What size should I order?
The size shown is the longest side of the design. A 4 inch is a pocket or hat print, 8 inch suits youth shirts, 11 to 12 inch is the usual adult front, and 15 inch is an oversized adult print.
What is the difference between standard and glitter film?
Standard film is full color with a matte finish. Glitter film adds a sparkle. They press at the same time and temperature, but glitter must cool completely and be peeled cold, never hot.
What do I press it onto?
Cotton, polyester and blends, light or dark, plus canvas bags, aprons and caps. Anything that cannot take 280°F is the exception.
How do I press it?
Pre press the garment for 10 seconds, press the transfer at 280°F for 10 seconds with firm pressure, peel the film, then cover with parchment and press again for 10 seconds. Do not wash for 24 hours. Full steps are on our pressing instructions page.
How long will it last?
Pressed correctly and washed cold and inside out, 50 to 100 washes without major cracking. How it was applied matters more than how it is washed.
This is the third year I've used Blu Ridge to print the iron on patches for family camp. They are always flawlessly printed and very colorful. This year I had an issue getting my file to upload. I sent an email and they answered within a few hours. Talked me through an alternate way of uploading and it worked beautifully. It was much easier than what I was doing. And my order arrived within a few days!
I almost didn’t get the shipping protection but I’m SO glad I did! Not sure what happened with my order after it got to USPS, but after about 10 days I called Blu Ridge to see if they seen anything different on their end. They didn’t, and Megan was able to file a claim on it. My order was completely replaced and shipped via UPS by the end of the same day. If you’re ever in doubt about whether or not to pay for the shipping protection, just do it! Even if you don’t need it, you won’t regret it. Especially if/when the time comes that you do need it!
Side note; THANK YOU BRDC for having this option available, along with the UPS shipping. We all know that USPS isn’t always 100% dependable.
The DFTs are always good quality, thought I thought they were spaced a little too close together. It required "precision cutting" to separate them. I don't get the Navidium shipping protection. They are just DFTs, not gold bars.
