Laser Engraved, Not Printed

The design is burned into the material, so it cannot peel, crack or wash out the way a printed patch does.

Heat Press Adhesive

Adhesive is already on the back. Press it on, or sew it if you would rather. No glue, no fuss.

No Minimum Order

Order one patch or a thousand. Most shops will not touch an order under a dozen. We will.

Upload. Approve. Press.

Step one: upload your artwork and choose your patch size, shape and color

Upload your artwork, then pick your shape, size and color. Vector files engrave sharpest, but a good PNG or JPG works too. Not sure yet? Send a screenshot and tell us what you want in Special Instructions.

Step two: we send a proof for your approval, then laser engrave and cut your patches

We send a proof for your approval before anything is cut. Once you say go, the laser burns your design through the top color of the leatherette, then cuts and seals every edge so it will not fray.

Step three: heat press your finished leather patch onto a hat, jacket, bag or shirt

They arrive ready to go. Peel the backing, stick the patch exactly where you want it, then press. The adhesive is tacky enough to hold it in place while you line it up, so nothing slides.

A Family's Dream, Engraved One Patch at a Time

We are a husband and wife shop in Ludowici, Georgia. Veteran owned, and small enough that the two of us touch every order that leaves the building.

Your patches are engraved here on our own laser, cut, cleaned and packed by hand. Nothing is imported, nothing is drop shipped from overseas, and nothing is handed to a third party we cannot answer for.

Supporting us means supporting a dream and we take that seriously on every single patch.

FAQ

What are your patches made of?

Premium leatherette with a heat activated adhesive already bonded to the back. It is a vegan leather, it will not stretch or fray, and the laser seals the cut edge so it does not need stitching.

What sizes can I get?

It depends on the shape. Rounded rectangle, rectangle, oval and cut to your own design use four standard sizes: 2 x 3, 3.5 x 2.5, 4 x 3 and 5 x 3 inches, or type your own up to 6 x 6.

Square and circle take one measurement instead of two, because that is all they need: 2, 2.5, 3 or 3.5 inches, or your own up to 6.

Custom sizes are priced by area at the same rate as the standard ones, so there is no penalty for picking your own.

3.5 x 2.5 is our standard and what most hat patches are. It is also larger than what most shops give you at this price.

How do I attach it?

Shirts, jackets, totes and anything else in thin fabric

  1. Lay the patch on the press, adhesive side up.
  2. Lay the garment over it with the patch where you want it.
  3. Press at 220F for 10 to 12 seconds.

Press from the back of the patch, never the front.

Hats and caps

  1. Warm the hat on its own for 5 to 10 seconds.
  2. Peel the backing off and position the patch.
  3. Press with medium pressure.

Standard press, one heated plate: 300F for 50 to 60 seconds. Go to 60 on thick or structured crowns.

Hat press with a heated bottom platen: 280F on top, 320F on the bottom, 45 seconds. Lay a silicone or foam pad over the patch.

Let it cool on its own before handling. Press one and check it before doing a batch.

Will the engraving wear off?

No. The design is burned into the material rather than printed on top, so there is no ink or vinyl layer to peel, crack or wash away. The mark is the material itself.

What colors do you have?

Seven: Rawhide, Walnut, Black on Black, Black with Gold, Sky Blue, Duck Camo and Baseball. On the six leatherette colors the second color in the name is what the engraving reveals, because the laser burns through the top layer to the one underneath.

Baseball is different. It is a UV printed baseball pattern on another material, and it adds $2.50 a patch.

We are adding more. If you need a color you do not see, ask.

What file should I send?

Vector artwork engraves best: AI, EPS, SVG or PDF give the crispest lines. A high resolution PNG or JPG works too.

Keep fine text above an eighth of an inch tall so it stays readable at patch size, and remember the engraving is one color, so line art and solid shapes work better than photographs.

Is there a minimum order?

No. Order a single patch if that is what you need. Most shops in this trade will not take an order under ten or twelve, which is exactly why we do.

Do I get to see a proof?

Yes. Every patch order is proofed before we engrave, so you see exactly what is going on the material and approve it first. Nothing is cut until you say so.

Can I pick them up instead of shipping?

Yes, local pickup is available at 474 Prince Road SE, Ludowici, GA 31316. Please wait until you receive the ready for pickup email before heading over.

Can you design the patch for me?

We can. The upload box is required, so attach a screenshot or a reference picture of what you have in mind, then describe it in Special Instructions. It does not need to be print ready artwork. We will come back with a quote for the design work before anything is charged.

What can I press a patch onto?

Hats, denim and canvas jackets, tote bags, backpacks, aprons, work shirts and uniforms.

Avoid waterproof and water resistant coatings, and loose knits and fleece. On thin or stretchy fabric the edge of the patch can show through the front.
